A retired civil servant from Ebudo Community, Oza-nogogo in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Ogbemudia Frederick has appealed to the Delta State Government led by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to pay retirees in the state their gratuities and pensions to enable them fend for themselves and their families.
Mr. Ogbemudia who made the appeal in a chat with pressmen at his country home at Ebudo said that large percentage of the retirees have no means of income to cater for the welfare of their families.
He said that since his retirement he has been looking so weak because there is no money to survive himself and his family. Is it wrong for one to be a civil servant or a retiree? He asked.
He told government should to remember that the retirees have worked for their gratuities and pensions, so, ‘why the delay’? He asked
He thanked the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi 1, for his good leadership in and outside, Agbor Kingdom. He prayed God Almighty to grant the revered Agbor monarch wisdom, strength and resources to pilot the affairs of Agbor Kingdom.
“May His Royal Majesty (Dr) Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi 1, Dein of Agbor Kingdom live long on his throne,” he prayed.
