…sets November 7 for Ward general meeting
It was a successful meeting for political leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ward 6, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State as they met on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, to discuss how to move the party at the Ward level forward.
The meeting called by Ward Chairman, Mr. Friday Giweze, had in attendance notable stakeholders of PDP which include, Hon. Collins Bello, Hon. Fred Ofume, Hon. Micheal Abanimoro, Hon. Godwin Ezedom, Ezinne Cecilia Ogbonyeri, Madam Obuh, Hon. Happy Onyeacholem, Hon. Saturday Obiaderi and Chief Philip Onyekpeze. Also included were Ekum Desmond, Isibor Maria, Ikewe Chuks, Ologwa Joseph, Samson Mercy and Momah Charles.
The strategic meeting also had the leaders developed plans for the ward enlarged meeting which date was subsequently fixed for November 7, 2020.
Briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting, Hon. Fred Ofume who is the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Community Development and Partnership for Rural Development, gave vivid details of the meeting which he described as a welcome development.
He said the leaders harmonized and at the end achieved milestone which according to him would snowball into more victory for the party in subsequent elections.
He assured that all hands would be on deck while noting that they are going to work assiduously in one common goal.
Hon. Collins Bello who was the immediate past Ika South LGA PDP Chairman, now member of the PDP state executive, thumbs up for the leaders for their resolve to jointly take the party to greater heights.
He charged the leaders to be more effective, saying that it was sacrosanct for them to show capacity for PDP to grow more in membership. This was corroborated by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Women Mobilization, Ezinne Cecilia Ogbonyeri who in the same vein encouraged the leaders to always carry the youths along to enable them understand the path of leadership.
On his part, the Ward Chairman, Mr. Kiweze, expressed gratitude to the leaders for their support to the party and also enjoined them not to relent as there was much work ahead to keep the party’s flag flying.
He maintained that PDP remains unshaken in Ward 6 but emphasized the need for them to harmonize and further strengthen the party.
He used the medium to encourage all faithful in Ward 6 to attend the ward enlarged meeting slated on the aforementioned date.
