In a bid to reconcile agrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Ika South Chapter who lost during the chairmanship and councillorship primary elections and to ensure total victory for all the party candidates in the forthcoming Delta State Local Government Council election scheduled for March 6, 2021, the party’s Reconciliation Committee in Ika South Local Government has affirmed that PDP is one family and as such they should work together as a team to ensure total victory at the poll.
The statement was handed down during the Reconciliation Committee’s meeting held on Thursday, February 4, 2022 at the Party’s Secretariat located along Mariere Street,Agbor, headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
While chatting with pressmen, the Chairman of the Reconciliation Committee, Dr. Chukwuma Nwaonicha said that they are trying hard to bring together all chairmanship and councillorship aspirants who lost during the party’s primary elections held in December last year.
In his words, “We are here to reconcile those agrieved people and to tell them to maintain peace, because there is still time for them. Besides, the position is for one person. If you fail today, that does not mean you cannot win tomorrow. They should not hold grudges against anybody, because we are one united family of PDP. We are imploring them to work with us, because PDP is a very formidable party in Delta State.
We have told them to go out to work, so as to heap massive votes for all PDP candidates at the poll.
He said, “Today’s meeting was very good. Those that lost at the primary election are very happy, because they have forgotten the past and now focusing on the future.
” I advise all PDP members to remain committed, loyal and hold on to PDP and work assiduously with Governor Okowa, because he is a nice person, so that they can reap the dividends of democracy”.
He enjoined everyone to obey and observe all Covid19 protocols, so as to avoid embarrassment.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the Committee, Mr Cosmos Igbinije noted that it is a collective work to win election and that everyone should be committed to whatever duty assigned to them.
He added that they should act very fast, because there is no time any longer.
He therefore appreciated them for their commitment to the party, positing that with this commitment, they will emerge victoriously at the poll.
