A youth leader in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria and loyalist of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Sylvester Arimokwu has lambasted the leadership of the party in the Local Government, especially in Ward 9, for one-sideness regarding the affairs of the ward leadership.

Mr. Arimokwu who spoke to newsmen during the week, noted that some of the PDP leaders in the local government especially, the ward leadership are giving Governor Ifeanyi Okowa a bad name by hijacking the empowerment programmes meant for party members and gave them to their girl friends who were never involved in party struggles.
He therefore appealed to the Governor to intervene in the crisis rocking the PDP Ward 9 leadership, claiming that the ward was yet to have a youth leader.
He appreciated Governor Okowa for his leadership prowess, stating that it was the reason Delta State is moving higher than every other State in the country.
He narrated how he joined other faithful PDP members to sleep at Agbor Model Primary School, Agbor just to guard the election materials during the last general elections and was not compensated even after the leader of Ward 9, Mr. Steven Akpaokwueze, also known as. Ayoba promised them of empowerment which he claimed was not given to him.
He lamented over the maltreatment by Ward 9 leaders. He explained how Mr Apaokwueze gave the youth leadership position to one Mr. Teddy, who he claimed was not a member of the ward.
He further accused Mr. Teddy of not having link with the ward since its creation .
He said, ” I am pained to state that while other wards concluded their ward Congresses, that of Ward 9 is still not concluded because, the person they brought has no relationship with the ward. He is not from ward 9.
” His parents are not from Ika land, he didn’t attend any school in Ika land. To be candid, he was just imported from Aniocha just to come and be a youth leader “
He commended Hon. Peter Idion, who is the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political matters ( Non Indigenes), Hon. Sunny Ogwu, the SUBEB Chairman, Mr. Chukwuyem Ojei, also known as, Yori Yori and others who have differentiated themselves from others in the Local Government and also in Ward 9.
