Delta State Community Policing (DSCP) is one of many setup in the state in collaboration with the police to tackle insecurity in various communities.
The security outfit in Oza-Nogogo was setup in the year, 2007 and duly endorsed by the police and state government. He said the number of security men in Oza-Nogogo is 50 persons.
Chairman of the zone, Mr. Okoro Alex in a chat with pressmen at the security office at Oza-Nogogo, narrated their experience in shouldering the security of fast growing commercial and political area in Oza-Nogogo.
Okoro called on Delta State Government, Non Governmental Of (NGO); churches, well meaning citizens both home and abroad, chiefs to assist the security outfit in the provision of security logistics such as patrol van, motorcycle, communication gadgets, rain boots, rain coat and monthly stipend to enable them run the security affairs and help other security agents combat crime in the area effectively.
The chairman noted that since he has been elected as the chairman of the outfit, crime has drastically reduced to the barest minimum such as robbery attack, wandering, matrimonial/spiritual matters etc.
He said that he had taught his group on how to protect lives and property and stressed the need for general assistance.
