An Agbor based taxi driver named Mr. Santo Ossai, who resides along Baleke by Aghakun junction with his family, he is from Ogume in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, struck what could be regarded as a golden opportunity of a life time for his family.
In an exclusive interview with our team of reporters from Ewere Okonta Blogs (EOB), they shared their stories with us.
Let’s hear their stories:
MR. SANTO OSSAI:
“My name is Mr. Santo Ossai, I’m originally from Ogume in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State. But I was born and brought up here in Agbor. I’m a taxi driver by profession.
I’m the father of these children: Joy, Promise, Mercy, Favour, Miracle, Gift and Success.
I was married to their mother (my wife) Mrs Uche Ossai, who died some few months ago.
Since her death, things have not been easy for me and the family financially; we have been finding it very difficult to make ends meet.
When my wife was alive, she was the pillar of our home, she supported me and the children tremendously.
My children and I were in this condition of uncertainty when our family friend Mr. Emmanuel Agbontaen, came to visit us; after assessing our condition he was moved and promised to link us with Dr. Donald Peterson.
We are in his house now!
But I cannot believe what I’m hearing!
Since I was born, nobody has ever done this kind of thing for me or my family”.
“Dr. Donald Peterson has offered four of my daughter’s automatic scholarship up their PhD.
He went further to promise two of my sons who said that they are not ready to further their education to choose any vocation or trade of their choice to learn.
They have made their choices.
My senior son has agreed to learn welding and fabrication while the younger one said he is learning House wiring.
Dr. Peterson has agreed to see them through their apprenticeship. He has also promised to set them up to become their own bosses.
He did not end there!
For my first daughter, he promised her the sum of two hundred thousand naira (#200,000) to start up her own dry fish selling business”.
“My only prayer for him is that God will grant him his heart desires, blessings, favour and good health. Amen”.
JOY OSSAI:
“My name is Joy Ossai, I’m a single mother with a daughter.
I am the first child of my parents, before the death of my mother; I was into the business of selling dry fish.
Since the death of my mother, I have spent all my business money during and after the burial.
I have been idle at home doing nothing.
Today, all that is about to change as Dr. Donald Peterson has promised to give me the sum of two hundred thousand naira (#200,000) to start over again with my dry fish business”
Dr. Donald Peterson is a God sent to us. God will bless him and his generation”.
MERCY AND FAVOUR OSSAI:
“My name is Mercy Chineye Ossai, I’m 24 years old and my sister is Favour Chiamaka Ossai, she is 20 years old; we are both students of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi Uku in the department of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT).
Both of us are in National Diploma 2.
Mr. Santo Ossai is our father and these are our other siblings.
Our dad has told you our stories, the only thing we need to add is that Dr. Donald Peterson has offered us and our other siblings a life time opportunity of an automatic scholarship to read up to PhD”.
He attached a condition that we must read up to our PhD’s and if we fail him that his God will fight us”
And we assured him that we would not fail him.
Please help us to thank him oo. God will bless him”.
PROMISE NDUKA SANTO:
“I’m Promise Nduka Santo, I’m the first son of my parents. I am 23 years old.
These are my family members.
As you are aware of our stories, Dr. Donald Peterson, offered my siblings and I this scholarship, but I declined the offer and opted to learn hand work (welding and fabrications)
To the glory of God, he accepted to sponsor me and promised to establish a workshop for me”
MIRACLE AMARACHI OSSAI:
“I’m Miracle Ossai, I am 17 years old and I dropped out of school when I was in SSS 2 at Word of Faith Group of Schools.
Dr. Donald Peterson has offered me scholarship to go back to school with a condition that I must study up to PhD.
I have willingly accepted the offer”.
GIFT OSSAI:
“My name is Gift Ossai, I am the second son of my parents and I’m 14 years old and a JSS3 student of Ogbemudien Mixed Secondary School, Agbor.
I declined the offer of scholarship from Dr. Donald Peterson because I want to learn House wiring and luckily for me he accepted to help me with further encouragement for me to start learning the work now while I still continue with my studies to finish my Secondary School”.
SUCCESS OSSAI:
“My name is Success Ossai and I’m 7 years old.
I want to become a Medical Doctor in future.
I am in primary 4.
God bless Dr. Donald Peterson for offering my siblings and I scholarship to study up to PhD”.
