It was all joy last Saturday, August 28 at St Gregory Catholic Parish, Oki, Agbor as the entire parishioners gathered to celebrate this year’s August Return. The well attended ceremony featured activities such as; welcome dance, match past, egg race and beauty competition. It was witnessed by the parish priest, Rev Fr Mathew I.Enebeli, Hon Patience Onyesom, popularly known as, Last Kobo, councillorship aspirant in Ward 6,Ika South, Edgar Odiase among other Oki sons and daughters.
In her address, the Secretary, Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of the parish, Mrs Ihienkaonye Doris thanked the Almighty God for the gift of life, good health and privilege to hold the 2020 August return ceremony of the parish.
She said, “St Gregory Catholic Parish,Oki is a baby of four years which has achieved much through the good and sterling leadership qualities of our beloved, amiable and hard-working spiritual leader, Rev Fr. Mathew I. Enebeli. Thank you a million times as we assure you of our continued support and prayer.”
She listed the challenges of the parish to include: provision of more chairs, furniture in father’s house, curtains,parade band and television set in father’s house.
On behalf of the parish, she thanked all persons who honoured their invitation.
In an interview, Hon Patience Onyesom commended Rev Fr Matthew Enebeli, CWO members and the entire parishioners for the success of the ceremony. She promised to continue to identify with the parish even as she thanked God for the opportunity to always contribute to the church.
