EOB: May we meet you, Boy?
Precious Egilewe: My name is Precious Goodluck Egilewe. I’m from Alifekede in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Presently, I am working with Ika Weekly Newspaper as a Computer operator .I also run my own little outfit by the side (Presloaded Concept), we are into branding, web development and management.
EOB: How old are you?
Precious Egilewe: I’m 18 years old.
EOB: Tell me about your parents
Precious Egilewe: My parents are Mr. and Mrs. Egilewe, both from Alifekede in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
My father, Mr. Orogodo Okundu Egilewe, is a carpenter and also a Pastor while my mum, Mrs. Esther Okundu Egilewe, is a petty trader.
EOB: Tell me about your School history
Precious Egilewe: I finished my secondary in 2018 at Mind Builders College Abudu, Edo State, but I failed woefully in my Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) that year.
The following year (2019) I re-enrolled at Aragba Secondary School, Abraka, Delta State, I passed with flying colours.
EOB: How did you come into the world of Computer?
Precious Egilewe: In 2017, I met a friend by name, Jerry Iwuchuckwu, who was already a blogger then; he introduced me into the world of Computer (programming, blogging, web design and management). I fell in love with it.
That same year, we opened our blog site, but we didn’t make good success from it. But we did not relent; we started developing ourselves, acquiring more knowledge on programming and other areas of interest to us.
EOB: How old is this your friend (Jerry Iwuchukwu)?
Precious Egilewe: Jerry should be about 19 or 20 years old.
He has acquired so much knowledge and certificates in computer.
He has been a good influence on me.
EOB: How did you know about D-Peterson Foundation?
Precious Egilewe: The first time I read and heard about D- Peterson Foundation was through you (Ewere Okonta’s) writings on Facebook and your posts on other social media platforms.
I’m even one of the candidates of the PYTHON Programming Students being sponsored by the Foundation.
In fact, I’m one of the youngest candidates on that programme.
Since then, I have been thinking on how to add value to the Foundation.
EOB: How did you come in contact with Dr. Donald Peterson?
Precious Egilewe: As I said earlier, I went home to think on how to add value to his Foundation and I came up with the idea of building and designing a website for D-Peterson Foundation.
When I was through with my design, I called him to book an appointment with him, on that said day, my brother, Christian Egiliwe, my sister and I went to his house at Orikeze Avenue, Ime-Obi, Agbor, Delta State.
I showed him the website that I built for D- Peterson Foundation; he appreciated it and told me that he would love to see my parents.
I took him to my parents’ house at Alifekede, after exchanging pleasantries with them, he told them that I built a website for his Foundation and that he is very impressed with my work, he went further to tell them that I need to be encouraged and for that, he is going to sponsor my Education through D-Peterson Foundation from my Undergraduate to PhD level.
He went further to add, that after my degree, if I so wish, his Company will employ me. Also during the period of my schooling, that I will be eligible for sponsorship to any computer training around the globe.
At this point, I ‘off’! My parents were overwhelmed with emotions!
The question that I continued to ask myself was could this be a dream?
EOB: What do you have to say to Dr. Donald Peterson?
Precious Egilewe: Dr. Donald Peterson is a good man. He should not relent in doing the good work that he is doing through his Foundation, even when humans do not appreciate him; God in heaven must surely reward him with good health, wisdom, knowledge, and the resources to do more.
EOB: What do you have to tell the youths from Ika Land?
Precious Egilewe: My advice for Ika youths is that anything they know how to do; they should do it with passion. They should stop abusing the power of technology.
EOB: What are your best moments?
Precious Egilewe: Whenever I’m with my laptop.
EOB: What drives you?
Precious Egilewe: The stories of Mike Zuckerberg are my source of inspiration.
EOB: Who is your role model?
Precious Egilewe: Mike Zuckerberg (Founder, Facebook)
EOB: What book has influenced you most?
Precious Egilewe: The Holy Bible. Especially the book of Mathew, chapter 7 verse 7.
Ask, and it shall be given; seek, and ye. Shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
EOB: Where do you see yourself in the next ten years?
Precious Egilewe: Smiles!
God willing, I see myself doing things that I can’t imagine. Because my works will be taught in the schools and universities around the globe.
Specifically, I will be providing IT solutions to blue chip companies around the world.
EOB: Thanks for having this interview session with you.
Precious Egilewe: God bless you, Boss. I’m honoured and privileged to be your guest.
