…Restate the need for party supremacy
The meeting of the leaders and stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ward 3,Ika South Local Government convened by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Okoh, was held on the 24th day of July 2020 at Alizomor.
The leaders of the party present at the meeting include, Emmanuel Okoh, Chairman of PDP in Ward 3, Gen Nick Agbogun, Rtd, Chief Ben Oriahi, Comr Jonathan Ojobu, Engr Noel Omodon, Peter Mormah, Hon Andrew Agwaze, J.K Aigbogun, Engr Imade Salami, Nduka Omodon, Hon Williams Omoregie, Williams Eghebi, High Chief Godfrey Atuke, Edwin Okoh, Dominic Onyibe, Charles Aliagwu, Paul Agwi, Hon Solomon Igudia, Hon Jerome Ozakpolor, Comr Lucky Omorojie, Anointed Ogala and Barr Solomon Kosonye.
During the meeting, the leader of the Party in the Ward, Gen Nick Agbogun (Rtd) welcomed all attendees, stating that the meeting was convened to fill in the vacuum of inactivity created by the lull in party activity after the successful conduct of the 2019 General elections and the Party Congress held recently.
He hinted further that Party activity is now getting warm as the local government election is gradually drawing nearer by the day.
According to him, “this calls for reawakening of party activity in our units and ward which is now to be kick-started by this stakeholders meeting.
He went further to explain that going forward and in consonance with the line of action of the Party Chairman at the LGA, it is now expedient for all leaders and stakeholders of the Party in the Ward to uphold the principle of the supremacy of the party.
He cautioned the party chieftains present at the meeting to ensure that they toe the line of the party by refraining from the previous practice of participating in the attendance of pressure group meetings.
He maintained that the era of pressure groups like Otu-Nmunne, Onye-dozi-ihien, Orinoyenma and all other political associations has ended, stating sternly that all focus should now henceforth, be on the Party.
He enthused further that leaders should respect one another and the Party structure led by Mr. Emmanuel Okoh, the Ward Chairman, as this will ensure that, “we all speak with one voice on issues in the Ward”.
This point as expressed by Gen. Nick Agbogun (Rtd) was supported by other leaders in their speech as presented by Mr. Emmanuel Okoh, Hon Andrew Agwaze, Chief Ben Oriahi, Comrade Jonathan Ojobu and Mr. Peter Mormah (Apisco).
During the meeting, Comr Lucky Omorojie, Supervisor for Health at the Ika South local Council used the opportunity to express appreciation for the appointment given him by the Party in the Ward in the position of Supervisory Councilor.
It was resolved that the subsequent meetings of the leaders and stakeholders of the Ward be called as the need arises and members were urged to always respond to such emergency call whenever they receive the notice of such meeting.
The meeting came to an end with a closing prayer said by Comrade Jonathan Ojobu.
