– Agboma The Ika North East Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Hon. Chuks Agboma on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 played host to the party’s Delta North Senatorial District Chairman, Hon. Moses Iduh, where he assured that his led executive won’t fail the party, recalling that since inception in 1999 they have not lost any election.
According to Agboma, “All thanks to our leader, the amiable of Governor of Delta Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. It is on record that our party has remained formidable in his time as the governor of the state where we are not faced with factions’ crisis.
“In line with our mandate to build a stronger and united PDP, I have set up and inaugurated reconciliation committee members to bring back our aggrieved members. Sincerely, the party is willing to welcome everyone back and be treated as one. Hence, I continued to preach for peace and unity in all wards and units.
“My led executive will remain loyal and committed to the course of PDP both at the LGA level, senatorial district and state as whole for the act that party is supreme.
“I joyfully welcome our party Delta North Senatorial District Chairman, Hon. Moses Iduh, onetime acting governor of the state, Pastor Prince Sam Obi and PDP Delta North Senator District Secretary, Chief Obi Izete amongst others”.
Responding, Hon. Moses Iduh congratulated Agboma and his executive members on their emergence as Ika North East PDP excos. While welcoming all present, he stated that his reason for visiting was to make know to the party leaders, stakeholders and all to beware of persons campaigning for 2023 general elections even before the second tenure of Governor Okowa led administration clocking a year in office.
According to him, “The desperado of these aspirants is what I do not know. But I have come to intimate you all so that no one will be mislead. The truth of it all is that we listen to no one, but wait patiently for our leader, Okowa to give us directive. Am sure at the right time, he (Okowa) will tell us what to do. Let us all remain calm and support his government to grow which is the main priority now”.
While expressing optimism that Agboma will lead well, Hon. Iduh warned all those on appointment and parading themselves as leaders in the party to desist, but rather humbled themselves the more to grow politically which according to him was the secrete behind the success of making Agboma as the party LGA chairman.
The PDP Delta North chairman also admonished the appointees and everyone on need for ones’ representation or presence to be felt in his ward, unit and community.
Continuing, Hon. Iduh said, “Car gifts not an empowerment, let us all see the need to embrace and support human capital projects. This is also the reason why Okowa remain a household name in Delta State, Nigeria and wherever he goes. Since politics is our business, let us learn to empower others meaningfully as we are remembered by the government”.
He appealed to everyone to always make meaningful suggestion for the growth of the party, while remarking that Ika nation has never had it so good until this time of Okowa.
Pastor Prince Sam Obi on his part also pointed out that Agboma’s humility speaks for him emerging the LGA chairman of the party. He said PDP in Ika North East is one and remain united, enjoining members who are yet to benefit to continue to work that would be remembered.
The PDP Delta North Senatorial District Secretary, Chief Obi Izete enjoined all those benefiting from Okowa’s government to show love to others for it is reason that the Governor remembered. He appealed that everyone must stand and cue behind Okowa waiting for his directives because he is our own brother who we know will never deceive or mislead us.
Other dignitaries present at the meeting include the Executive Chairman, Ika North East Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Victor Ebonka, his deputy, Hon. Corlina Anazie, members of the council’s legislative house led by its leader, Hon. Morris Nwadibie, the Ika North East Local Education Authority Secretary, Hon. Christopher Nwadibie among other appointees, party stakeholders and leaders.
